How to enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

Temporary visas and international students

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

For more information about educational opportunities in rural areas, visit Rural and distance education.

Out-of-area enrolment

If you are applying for an out-of-area enrolment for Year 7 in 2025 you will need to complete the online enrolment application. You will be prompted to explain why your child should be considered for an out-of-area enrolment.

Placement panel

A placement panel is formed to consider and make recommendations based on the established criteria on all enrolment applications. The composition of the panel follows Department of Education and Communities guidelines. In assessing the application of the criteria to individual cases, the panel will consider only those matters presented on the application form.

The placement panel will consider and make recommendations on all non-local enrolment applications.

Criteria for out-of-area enrolment applications

The placement criteria for out-of-area enrolment applicants listed below will be used by the panel to establish an order of placement, so as to either offer a position at the school (when local enrolment numbers permit) or placement on a waiting list.

Selection criteria for out-of-area enrolment applications

For 2025 and 2026 only, consideration will be given to out-of-area enrolments for:

  • siblings already enrolled at Gregory Hills Public School

Students from out-of-area wishing to apply should include all supporting evidence that may assist the intake panel in making a decision. The principal will ensure that the established criteria are applied equitably to all applicants.

Further information regarding out-of-area enrolment can be found here:
